“The Boys”
17x23" original watercolor
Every once in a while, I’ll finish a commission and think, “Gee, wouldn’t it be nice if I could enter this in a show somewhere?” And because of the nature of commissions, and because most shows insist that the artist put a price on their painting(s), my commissioned work does not go on display in shows. And so, I decided to do a painting from a photo I like of what might be a typical commission. This is a threesome of Minneapolis executives that visited New Bern, NC two years ago. I’m friends of a friend of theirs. Unfortunately, he was unintentionally, not included in the photo.
After completing this painting, I was dying to get outside and paint. I spent the last week plein air painting on the coast. Please visit
On the Plein Air Trail, my other blog, to see some of what I did this past week.
